David Palmai-Pallag joined Primus Trust Corp. in January 2016. as Chief Economist. A year later he was appointed as a new member of the Board of Directors, in May 2017 he became a Managing Partner in the company.

As an economist, Mr. Palmai-Pallag has high expertise in investment products and financial market assets, such as currencies, bonds, stocks, commodities, options, and derivative products. He has more than seventeen years of experience in trading and investing, of which he has spent seven years as a professional bond and fixed-income derivatives trader and interbank market maker.
He mainly focuses on the interest rate and global fixed income markets.
In the last seven years, he has developed his own active technical trend following model, which he uses in combination with macro analysis to support trading and investment decisions.

Mr. Palmai-Pallag received his Economics master degree from the University of Szeged, Faculty of Economic Sciences (Course of Economic Management, Spec. in finances). Since 2001. Mr. Palmai-Pallag has worked for treasury departments of several Hungarian and International financial institutions (Cashline Securities Inc., CIB Central-European International Bank Ltd. (Intesa Group), CITI Bank Handlowy in Warsaw, Raiffeisen Bank) in different positions such as equity sales, Fixed-Income Sales and FI Trader, Proprietary Trader and Head of Fixed-Income Desk. During his career, he has built deep knowledge in financial markets, while as a government bond market maker he also had a chance to work closely with Real Money Investors and Hedge Fund managers, getting some insight into the daily operation of buy side clients.
Mr. Palmai-Pallag is responsible for pre-empting strategic decisions on direction of investments and asset allocations, and to follow up deal executions, booking and valuations.
Since risk management had always been a top priority for him as an interbank trader, it became even more pronounced in his daily activity as a trustee. Being responsible for the company’s financial risk management, he had a leading role to develop the complex controlling rulebook, and to implement certain protective tools and mechanism.
